Town of Wilkesboro Public Hearing Notice
Notice is hereby given that the Wilkesboro Town Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.in the Council Chambers at Wilkesboro Town Hall, 203 West Main Street, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to consider the following:
Local Landmark Application # 2026-01 submitted by Anuj Kasera on behalf of Wilkesboro Main LLC requesting the Town Council designate the property of approximately 1.52 acres located at 207 West Main Street, Wilkesboro, NC (PIN # 3867-39-8337) as a local historic landmark. The property is identified as Parcel ID #2203597 and is located within the Town limits.
The purpose of the request is to protect the historic elements of the structure and property.
The public is invited to attend and provide comments either in favor of or in opposition to the proposed landmarking.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INTENT TO APPROVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY
TAKE NOTICE that the Wilkesboro Town Council intends to consider and take action with respect to certain economic development activity which the Town of Wilkesboro (hereinafter the “Town”) proposes to undertake pursuant to G.S. §158-7.1(a). The nature of the activity to be considered consists of an economic development project with the name “Project Kingfisher,” which involves potential construction of facilities and operations by the applicant within the municipal limits of the Town of Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina (hereinafter referred to as “the Applicant”). As a result of Project Kingfisher, the Applicant plans to invest in new machinery and equipment and real property improvements in an estimated amount of up to $66,166,398 over the next seven (7) years and to duly list the same for taxation in the Town of Wilkesboro Tax Assessor’s Office. Further as a result of Project Kingfisher, the Applicant would propose to create and fill approximately one hundred sixty-seven (167) new full-time jobs over the next seven (7) years at wages which exceed the average annual wage in the Town of Wilkesboro.
Pursuant to the foregoing, the Town and the Applicant would propose to execute an Economic Investment Agreement (hereinafter “Agreement”) which would provide that, in return for the capital investment and hiring of full-time employees to be undertaken by the Applicant as set forth above, the Town would make annual appropriations to the Applicant for a period of seven (7) years in accordance with the provisions of the Wilkes County Economic Development Investment Policy, upon conditions to be set forth in the Agreement.
FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Wilkesboro Town Council (hereinafter “Town”) will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at Wilkesboro Town Hall located at 203 W Main Street, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, at which time any person may be heard regarding the above-described economic development activity and the Agreement to be considered by the Town Council.

The property is identified as Parcel ID #2201367 and is located within the Town limits.
The purpose of the request is to allow for residential development consistent with the Town’s land use plans.
The public is invited to attend and provide comments either in favor of or in opposition to the proposed rezoning.
